The Colombian Federation of Municipalities chooses AlfaPeople to implement Dynamics 365
The Colombian Federation of Municipalities has chosen AlfaPeople for its knowledge and support services to implement Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations.
The Colombian Federation of Municipalities is the guild-like, private and non-profit association that represents the country’s municipalities, districts and their associations in the creation, consensus and analysis of public policy. It defends and promotes decentralization, autonomy, democracy and local governance.
The Colombian Federation of Municipalities has for approximately 10 years used a SAP business software package for its administrative, financial and accounting management, with the modules: FA – Financial Accounting; MM – Materials Management; PM – Project Management; CC – Control and Costs; BM – Budgetary Management and SD – Sales and Distribution.
However, the platform currently has deficiencies in terms of interoperability and integration of modules, as well as with separate systems used for administrative and financial management. This has caused the following setbacks:
- Reprocessing during the consolidation and generation of administrative, accounting and financial reports
- Management of public financial information manually generated from SDF, which leads to a high probability of errors due to the manipulation of highly complex files
- Concentration of functions among a few end users
- Delayed delivery of reports from each administrative, financial and accounting team and department
- Intervention of multiple areas to elaborate and consolidate information and reports
- The entity has multiple silos in different departments, which makes it difficult to prepare full reports and leads to inconsistent information
- Demanding operational workload to handle files and information
As a part of its innovation plans, the Colombian Federation of Municipalities chose the ERP system Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations. The organization recognized its versatility and ease of integration with specialized systems, with the overall benefit being the centralization of information, control, decision-making and reporting.
The implementation is comprised of:
- Presales support to structure the project, conducted from 2017 to 2019
- Understanding the problems in terms of financial control, projects, supply, cost and integration with current projects
