For customers who purchased their Dynamics CRM licenses via Open License, Open Value or Open Value Subscription, licensing is now available via a Cloud Solution Provider (CSP), under an Enterprise Agreement (EA), via Web-Direct or Microsoft Products and Service Agreement (MSOP). The components of Microsoft Dynamics 365 will also be used here after the release upgrade.
What is the transition from Dynamics CRM to Dynamics 365 about?
The Dynamics CRM user who will be replaced by the Dynamics 365 user:

How does the transition from the local installation to the cloud work?
There are basically two options for switching from a local installation to the Microsoft cloud:
- Hybrid use of the Dynamics application, i.e. working with the local version and additionally with the options of the cloud. For the local version, the software assurance or the enhancement plan will continue to be paid and the cloud components will be made available as a subscription at a discounted price.
- The direct migration to the Microsoft Cloud, i.e. only the Cloud will be used after the release upgrade. Software assurance and enhancement plans are no longer required. The licenses are provided as part of a subscription at a discounted price.
