52 percent of respondents are already utilizing AI features in their business processes. 40 percent have not adopted AI yet. Meanwhile, 8 percent remain unsure about using AI.

This data is supported by research conducted by Gartner, an American-based information technology consultancy and advisory firm. Gartner’s research investigates AI readiness and adoption across various industries. The research suggests that more than 80 percent of enterprises will have utilized generative APIs by 2026. Many will adopt applications enabled by such AI technologies within this timeframe.

Motivation for adoption of AI technologies in business processes

According to data from Microsoft AI Solutions in Business Processes: Outlook 2025, the main motivation behind AI adoption in companies is the ability to use AI to improve operational efficiency.

However, enhancing customer service and automating internal user service are also large driving forces behind AI adoption.

It may come as a surprise that revenue growth and profit margin improvement seemingly aren’t motivational factors.

Prepare for rapid adoption

With 52 percent already utilizing AI features in their business processes, AI technology adoption in the organizations represented in the survey is already well underway. However, the 40 percent not using AI need to start preparing.
