With Microsoft Dynamics 365, the dream becomes a reality

On 1st November, Microsoft will be launching one of its greatest products in recent times – Microsoft Dynamics 365. Dynamics 365 gathers Microsoft’s ERP cloud solutions, AX 7 and NAV, with Dynamics CRM. The result will be one combined cloud solution that can be adapted on an ongoing basis for your company. Microsoft’s plan to amalgamate ERP and CRM is not a new concept, and with Dynamics 365 the dream becomes a reality.

Apps for Dynamics 365

Microsoft Dynamics 365 has been inspired by the apps you have on your smartphone. The idea behind the launch of Dynamics 365 is that it should be simple and intuitive, and you should only have (and pay for) the modules the company needs. In other words, Microsoft Dynamics 365 takes point of departure in your business and follows the growth and development of the company.

Microsoft Dynamics 365 the complexity is gone, thereby providing a seamless user experience and the necessary overview for the individual user while at the same time ensuring consistency of processes across departments and systems.

Two versions of Microsoft Dynamics 365

Dynamics 365 launches in two variants, which is directed towards two different type of company sizes:

  • Dynamics 365 Enterprise – is an amalgamation of Dynamics AX 7, Microsoft’s Enterprise ERP solution, and Dynamics CRM. This is a solution aimed at companies with over 250 employees and a minimum of 20 AX 7 users.
  • Dynamics 365 Business – combines Dynamics NAV, Microsoft’s small ERP solution, and Dynamics CRM. Business Edition is aimed at companies with 10-250 users – 300 users max.

The overall difference between the two solutions is that Business Edition comprises of Dynamics NAV and Enterprise comprises of Dynamics AX 7 (which in Dynamics 365 will be called ‘Operations’ instead of AX 7).

With the news about Microsoft Dynamics 365, Microsoft solves one of the biggest challenges when implementing new business solutions, i.e. getting data to flow between solutions that focus on transactions and relations. Combining the transactions, you have with customers and the relation that forms the basis of the transactions really gives you insight.

Goodbye to silos and hello to a 360-degree overview

Many people talk about having a 360-degree customer overview. It is a bit of a cliché, but that does not make it less important in a modern market. It requires having an overview of the business you have done as well as the customer relationship you are maintaining to do more business. Achieving a 360-degree overview strengthens the company’s position in relation to being able to provide better customer service. A 360-degree overview is necessary in maximising the customer’s lifetime value. This is exactly what Microsoft Dynamics 365 gives your company. The solution aims at breaking down silos in companies and creating the same image of customers within all departments.

Microsoft has really succeeded in making this much easier with Dynamics 365.

Next week we will review the components in Microsoft Dynamics 365 and go more into depth as to what Microsoft Dynamics 365 offers and what this will mean for you and your business.
