ITSM – Merger of technologies

Provance® and AlfaPeople today announced a merger of technologies, human resources and other assets of the AlfaPeople IT Service Management division that will allow both parties to combine and create a strong offering in the IT Service Management (ITSM) software segment. The transaction will see the transfer of AlfaPeople’s ITSM software product, licensees and supporting personnel and assets to Provance in exchange for equity.

Operating under the Provance name, the company will focus exclusively on the development and sale of software that is built specifically to provide IT Service Management capabilities, including IT Asset Management, on Microsoft® platforms.

“The AlfaPeople ITSM software product was built leveraging our deep expertise as a leading Microsoft Dynamics partner and crafted to meet the exacting, real life IT service management needs identified in customer engagements,” said Michael Gaardboe, CEO of AlfaPeople. “The strong reputation of Provance as an independent software vendor and the company’s proven ability to successfully develop and sell Enterprise IT Asset Management software for over 18 years, unleashes tremendous potential to bring the product to a vast and lucrative global market.”

“The differences and similarities between AlfaPeople and Provance epitomise the ideal
partnership scenario,” said Gilles Lalonde, CEO of Provance. “While we have discrete but highly
complementary technologies, sales channels and target markets that together represent
tremendous potential for synergy, we have a deep commitment and expertise with Microsoft
platforms in common and, more importantly, are fundamentally like-minded in principle,
corporate culture and business ethics.”

The AlfaPeople ITSM product and the Provance products, both individually and in packaged collections, will continue to be developed, supported and sold by the new merged entity under the Provance name. License terms and support and maintenance agreements for existing customers using the AlfaPeople ITSM and Provance products will not be affected.

Provance IT Service Management will be available through the existing Provance global partner channel and the global Dynamics channel.

Apart from the transfer of people and assets related to the ITSM software product, AlfaPeople remains a separate company. It will continue its successful practice as one of the largest Microsoft Dynamics partners in the world with more than 550 employees in 15 countries, focused on Microsoft Dynamics AX and CRM and additionally become a global partner for the ITSM solution.
